Hello! I want to welcome you and your child to third grade at Clark Davidson Elementary! I am looking forward to this school year and working with your child. A good learning experience is built on a cooperative effort between parent, child, and teacher. My expectations for behavior and academic growth are high. With your participation in and out of the classroom we can look forward to a productive, creative, and fun year together!
When you enrolled your child, you provided us with much information so that we could know you and your child. Now I want to give you a chance to meet me. I grew up in Winfield, Kansas, and attended college at Kansas State University (Go Wildcats!). My teaching career includes 29 years of teaching first through third grades in both private and public schools in the Wichita area. One of my most rewarding experiences was the opportunity to assist in the development of the Traditional Magnet Program for the Wichita Public Schools, and to teach in the program for five years. The past sixteen years have been spent teaching second and third grades at both Clark Davidson and Oak Street Elementary. I am so excited to be back at CDS where I began my career at Goddard! My husband, Bryce, and I have two wonderful sons. Grant is 27 and is currently working at Intrust Bank Arena as an assistant to the operations/facility management director. Nick is 24 and is pursuing a graduate degree from Wichita State University in Sports Management. Both boys are graduates of Goddard. Also part of my family is our two dogs: Cabot (Maltese), and Rocky (Miniature Schnauzer). Some of my favorite things to do are going to K-State football and basketball games, boating on Table Rock Lake, and making time to go to the YMCA!
I wanted to let you know a couple of things before the first day. The children may bring water bottles and snacks to school each day. Please refrain from sending candy, sticky products, or something that must be eaten with a utensil. Also, we love to celebrate birthdays! Please let me know ahead of time when you would like to celebrate your child’s birthday. Usually the end of the day works best.
I hope you feel some of your questions have been answered. I am looking forward to getting to work with your children. My planning time is 10:45-11:15, and 2:30-3:00 daily. Please feel free to contact me during that time whenever you need to do so. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
I know we are going to have a wonderful year together!
