All About Mrs. Ewing

Meet the Teacher

Hi!  My name is Liz Ewing and I am so excited to be spending another year with CDS Kindergarten students!  More importantly, I am THRILLED to be your child’s teacher!  It’s going to be a fun year full of learning and new adventures, and I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us.  I want to know ALL about your child, but first I’m going to tell you a few things about me.

I was born and raised in Wichita and attended Goddard Schools since I was a Kindergartener myself!  After that, I went to the University of Kansas (go Jayhawks!) where I completed my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and my Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction.  It was during that time that I realized how much I loved working with primary age students it’s amazing how much kiddos learn in these first few years of school!

I started my teaching career with Derby Public Schools in a first grade classroom before I moved back to Goddard to teach Kindergarten.  This will be my seventh year teaching and I am excited to start another school year with your child.  I love that I get to experience many “firsts” with them, but also know exactly what they need to learn to have a successful Kindergarten year and be ready for first grade.

I am married to my wonderful husband, Shane Ewing.  You can check out his job every morning, as he is the co-anchor for Good Morning Kansas on KAKE news!  In our spare time we love to try new restaurants, explore on our bikes, golf, travel, and enjoy each other’s company over a hot cup of coffee.  We welcomed our first baby, Brynn, last October.  She has definitely kept us busy and filled our hearts with love!

I am so thrilled your child is in my class this year!  I just know we are going to have an amazing school year, full of learning and laughter.  Always know I am available to answer any questions or concerns you may have!
