2nd Grade Teacher
I graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education.
I have also obtained certification for my State of Kansas teaching license and my ESOL endorsement.
This will be my 5th year teaching at CDS and with the Goddard school district. I have also taught 1st and 3rd grade here at CDS, so I have a great understanding of where your child needs to be as they progress through the year! I am super excited to be teaching in 2nd grade with your kiddo this year!
Before coming to Clark Davidson, I completed my student teaching in a 3rd grade classroom in the Maize school district. I have had significant experience in the classroom as a substitute teacher as well. Prior to teaching, I was a full-time, stay-at-home mom for 17 years. I also accumulated several years of early childhood classroom experience, as a teacher and director/owner of my own preschool/child care center.
I have been married to Brian, my high school sweetheart, for 26 years. We have four children; our daughter, Taylor, is 21; she is in her 4th year of college pursuing an elementary education degree through Ft. Hays State University. Our son, Parker, is 19; he is beginning his first year of college at Butler Community College. Our daughter, Haylee, is almost 15, and starting her freshman year of high school. Our son, Hunter, is 11 years old; he’ll be in 5th grade this year. They attend school in the Maize school district.
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy watching my kids' various sporting events, which includes volleyball, football, baseball, and softball. We keep especially busy during football season watching both our boys play, as well as cheering on the Hutch Blue Dragons, where my brother coaches, and the Wildcats! Go K-State! I also like to watch Shocker basketball and the Royals! I enjoy reading a variety of children's literture and books about U.S. history, I like to travel and visit new places, and I love to watch movies!
