A native of Missouri, I graduated from Lathrop High School in Lathrop, Missouri and attended the University of Central Missouri to pursue a career in communication sciences and disorders.
I hold a Master’s of Science, the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and Kansas State Licensure in the area of Speech-Language Pathology.
I regularly attend and/or complete professional development workshops/trainings in the areas of speech-language pathology and special education. I have attended countless workshops and conferences on a variety of topics, but often choose professional development opportunities that directly reflect the needs of my current students.
The 2017-18 school year will be my 2nd year at Clark Davidson and with the Goddard School District; my 3rd year with the Sedgwick County Area Educational Services Interlocal Cooperative; and my 9th year as a school-based speech-language pathologist.
I began my career as a school-based speech-language pathologist in January 2004 and have held several positions since that time. My work history is as follows:
*Fife School Distict (Fife, Washington): January 2004-July 2005
*Tahoma School District (Maple Valley, Washington): August 2005-April 2008
*Stay-at-Home-Mom: April 2008-July 2014
*Northwest Kansas Educational Service Center, West Elementary School (Goodland, Kansas): August 2014-July 2015
*Sedgwick County Area Educational Services Interlocal Cooperative: August 2015-Present (Garden Plain Elementary & High School, 2015-16 school year)
I have loved all of the positions I have held, but look forward to many years here at CDS!
I have been married to my wonderful husband, Jesse, for 14 years and together we have 3 children (1 boy, 2 girls) who attend school in the Maize School District. Our fur kids include 2 cats (Theo and Cleo) and 1 dog (Junie B).
When I am not at work/school or spending time with my children and husband, you can find me at church, with friends or doing anything crafty!
