Star of the Week
Each week, a student is chosen to be the Star of the Week in our classroom. Your child will be the Star next week! Throughout the week your child will bring something to share with the class so that we may get to know him/her better. I will send a poster board home with your child on Friday. Over the weekend, please help your child put pictures labeled with words to tell about himself/herself. These pictures may be drawn, photographs, or from a magazine. Your child is also encouraged to decorate it. The poster will be shared with the class on Monday. It will be hung in the classroom on the Star of the Week board and then sent back home at the end of the week.
I would like to invite you to come and read to the class. The students love when we have special visitors and what better time to come in then when your child is the Star of the Week. Wednesday is the day for your child to share a book with the class. The best time to come read is at 3:40 P.M. If you have a conflict and are not able to come read on this day or at this time, please contact me and we will work together to find a time that will work. I look forward to having you join us! If you are unable to join us, I am more than happy to read your child’s favorite book to the class. Please just communicate that with me.
Please help your child prepare for the following activities.
Monday: Share poster
Wednesday: Bring a favorite book to share (parent reader)
Friday: Show and Tell (bring something special to share that the child can fit in his/her backpack)
Thank you for helping your child prepare to be the Star of the Week. I am very excited to learn more about your child!
