One of my main focuses at Clark Davidson is character education. I teach in every classroom every other week. Some
of the topics that I teach are respect, perseverance and accepting differences. I do this in a variety of ways including:
books, games and activites. I also see students individually and in small groups. If you have a concern feel free to call
or email me and I would be glad to see your child and help with the issue.
One of the character education activities that Mr. Cavanaugh and I do for the school is Bucket Fillers. We have a
bucket filler goal every week for student's to work towards. The first week of school will be "Be the first to say hello."
When any adult sees the behavior we are looking for that week we put their name in a bucket in the office. On Fridays,
we draw four students from each grade to eat lunch with one of us and be recognized on morning announcements. It is
a great way to get students to work on showing their good character.
I also teach the Leader in Me Curriculum! It is a wonderful program that teaches kids to work on life skills at an early age. There are 7 habits that we focus on throughout the year! All of these programs help make kids successful both acadmically and socially!
